Dr. Zaheer Aslam completed Residency Training in Psychiatry in 2000 and Fellowship in 2001 in Addiction Psychiatry at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Dr. Aslam is Board Certified in General Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry and has achieved Diplomat status in both Psychiatry and Addiction.
Dr. Zaheer Aslam is a skilled, caring and experienced clinician who excels in the Evaluation and Treatment of General Psychiatric Disorders, including Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, PTSD, Schizophrenia and Addiction Disorders.
Dr. Zaheer Aslam started his career as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine and as a Staff Psychiatrist at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. Dr. Aslam has been in private practice since 2007. Dr. Aslam’s career has been varied with him providing a variety of professional-level services clinically, administratively, educationally and in research. Dr. Aslam was instrumental in establishing rural psychiatric services in Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin and Florida through his work with and in Telepsychiatry (studies have shown that patient satisfaction rate and treatment outcomes are the same when video session is compared with face to face interaction).
Dr. Zaheer Aslam has been involved in evaluating and treating patients through telepsychiatry since 2001. Dr. Aslam designed and implemented substance dependence evaluations on Veterans who could not access services nearby, and in nursing homes located in medically underserved areas.
In addition to overseeing Advanced Psychiatric Care, Dr. Aslam is currently the Director of a Co-Occurring in-patient program at a psychiatric hospital located in Fort Myers, Florida.
